mere Christianity
Alright so as a personal devotions this month I am reading mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, i figured i would post what i felt about the chapters as i go. so here is my thought on the first chapter.
The Law of Human Nature.
Lewis keeps talking about the Law of Human Nature, which is the thought that you have to be decent to someone:
The Law of Human Nature.

Men have differed as regards what people you ought to be unselfish to-whether it was only your own family, or your fellow countrymen, or everyone. But they have always agreed you ought not put yourself first.
-C.S. Lewis Chapter 1 of mere Christianity.
This sentence popped out at me, because it you think about it, it is true, you always seem to have something inside that wants to pay at least respect to other people, or being nice to. Like when you see a little girl without shoes at Walmart, you feel pity for that person, you don't know why they aren't wearing shoes, but you want to be unselfish to them. Or when you see a person with cancer, you really want to help them, or at least wish them well.
Then Lewis concludes with good reason this:

It seems, then, we are forced to believe in a real Right and Wrong. People may be sometimes mistaken by them, just as sometimes people get there sums wrong; but they are not a matter of mere taste and opinion then the multiplication table.-C.S. Lewis Chapter 1 of mere Christianity.
This is a brilliant deduction. Because no matter if someone tells you they do not believe in right or wrong, they still wouldn't like it if you punched them in the face, stole there wallet, and ran away with there money. No matter how much you claim to not have a view on what is right and wrong you will ALWAYS have one.
