Thank you to Water Brook Press, the program Blogging for books, for this free book.
It was an amazing, life changing book.
It taught me not to listen to the Chatterbox, the voice of hate, the one that whispers to me every time I look into the mirror. The voice the devil sends me to tell me I am not good enough, that I am a failure. That no matter what I do, I will always be second best.
‘Who told you?’ was my favorite line from the book. Taken from the genesis book when God asked Adam and Eve why they were hiding, and they responded ‘We heard you coming, so we hid because we were naked.’ God replied saying ‘Who told you that you were naked?’ the ‘who told you that you were ugly? Who told you that you weren’t good enough? Who told you that you aren’t special? Who told you that you can’t do anything right?’ is what we should be asking ourselves, just as God asked Adam and Eve.
Who told you? Who told you your greatest fears? Who told you that? –It was the Chatterbox-the Devil’s own secret agent inside your head.
Learn who it is, learn its weaknesses, and learn how to help you ignore it.
