So i have been seeing ALOT of t-shirt scarves out there. people buy these things that are made from $5 t-shirts for $20+
So, I really wanted to make one myself. Because i am cheap, and don't want to spend money on something like that.

It is a great scarf, that you can wear with many different outfits and in different ways. And with all the snow out here in the mid-west it is kind of cold. A scarf is a handy thing to have.
All you need is a old or new T-shirt, a pare of scissors, and about 1 hr, oh and your favorite music to listen too.

So i started with an old T-shirt. Yes, one i use to wear. But it was clean, and i didn't like it really anymore.
It is a size L, for all those who want to know.

I cut it here, about two inches from the armpits, because we will be using the top part later.
along the bottom edge cut 1/2 inch fringe, i cut both sides at the same time, which made it quicker. then pull on them to make them stretch slightly, so that they look like the ones on the fare right.
now you cut the slices for the braided part. i couldn't find anyone who explained how to do this on the intranet, so i just winged it. i pulled the fabric up, pinching it up so that i had both layers in kind of a hill(shown below) then i used my scissors to cut about an inch. It cut both ways and it made it pretty easy.
The ''hill'' i was talking about earlier.
Now we use the twoish inches we left on the top. we will cut those into rings, then make them strings by cutting out one of the side seems.
So this next part is the hardest. first you stretch out the strings, then tie them to one of the lines you cut.
Then you start braiding. Once you get over the next line you take the middle string and thread it through, bringing it back out and continue to braid. And braid. and Braid. . . it took the longest.

Then it will look kinda like this.
I cut another line of holes but just left them open with no braiding.
And TADA! (is it sad i don't know how to spell that?)
You have your own T-shirt scarf.
keep crafting everyone!
